EVE Online
I decided to finally quit World of Warcraft. It wasn’t that hard of a decisions, I haven’t raided seriously for quite some time and I just found that I wasn’t playing it very much. I didn’t see a reason to keep paying 15 bucks a month for something I wasn’t using. Plus, it takes up a bunch of space on my SSD so good riddance!
However, I did decide to start a new game: EVE Online. I know its been out for a long time but I never tried it before. Most of what I had read about it made it look really cool so I decided to try it out. I’m on the 14 day free trial right now and its AWESOME. Holy shit. I totally regret not trying it out before.
The beauty of EVE is that anyone can play at their own pace and accomplish whatever they want. You can be an industrial giant or a lowly pirate fighter, lone wolf style. I obviously haven’t gotten that far yet but I am really digging the gameplay. I bought my first ship (A FRIGATE WHATWHAT) and have been outfitting it with all sorts of cool stuff.
I think anyone who is interested should check out www.eveonline.com and watch the video they have on their site. It is a nice three minute intro to what the game encompasses. I’ll be sure to post more about EVE as I learn more. I have been reading a few wiki’s but they haven’t been as helpful as just clicking around in the game. The learning curve is ridiculous but I like that in a game. It makes it more fulfilling to learn whats going on.
